Songs for a PRN Mix CD to convert a Jam Band fan

I need to convert a friend to PRN. She loves Jam music like Phish and Allman Bros, etc. Shes does like different kinds of music, but doesnt know much about Prince other than Purple Rain and Diamonds and Pearls. She hated D&P and hasnt paid attention to his music because of that song.

Give me some ideas for her to see that Prince can jam too-

So far I'm thinking-

Joy in Rep
Just My Imagination
Last December or Everlasting Now

I always find the best way to convert non-fans is to play them your favorite songs (as opposed to playing songs you think they will like). But you must explain to them why you love those particular songs - give them context to work with. It's also better to work on the "less is more" strategy, that is, don't flood them with too much too soon.

I always find that Prince fans have their own little story about how they became fans. It's rare that you get someone saying "my friend gave me a mix tape and I loved it!!" lol. People have to feel as if they're discovering it for themselves!

OK, so if I must recommend a track... "If I Was The Man In Ur Life"

I might start with NEWS, Xpectations and C-Note.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I wouldn't give her anything after 2000. It's terribly embarrassing compared to greater and earlier material. I think the mid 90's right around the time of the name change was some of his best material; and that came from having a great muse: His self-imposed fight w/ Warner Bros. "The Exodus Has Begun", "Endorphinmachine", "Gold", "Dolphin", "Return of the Bump Squad", "Race", "Space", "Chaos and Disorder" are a few that come to mind. Also dig up rare gems like "Let's Work", "Private Joy", "Lady Cab Driver", "DMSR", "Anotherloverholenyohead", "Adore", "Housequake", "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night", "Forever In My Life", "Lovesexy". The list goes on.
