Out of all ofthe songs on 3121 I really like the dance.. Iwant to know who prince is speaking about in this song. What person has Prince emotions so much in a stir he think he might "loose his mind" if he falls in love with that person?




Secondly, How many of you absolutely like this song?


Just curious,

I get the impression this song is about his struggle with sexual morals, not directed at a specific person.

I always got the impression that it was about Mani. Originally it was on The Chocolate Invasion as just a "generic" song. But it's reworking and inclusion on 3121 just always made me think that. I don't know, just what always came to my mind.




Oh and yes; I absolutely love this song!

first listen I found it a little boring, now its my favorite song on the album

I liked this as soon as I heard the first opening notes. And that scream at the end - classic Prince. this is my absolute favorite on 3121 and in my top ten favorites. I never heard the other version.

Could it be that the dancer and Prince never thought they'd be the ones falling love? Did it take them by surprise or did others keep them separated?
If his/her plate was full with another person who was calling the shots, the emotions played out in this song would explain the despair and tormented screaming.

touching and heart hitting with so much emotions displayed in 'the dance. Difficult listening at times...but I do One of my favorites on this one next to "Black Sweat"
