Post 1988,what do you consider to be the most consistant run of each album improving over the last? Most people feel that from either For You to Purple Rain or For You to Sign O the Times(or Lovesexy),every album was an improvent from the previous. After the aforemention eras, many feel most releases were inconsistant. What do you feel was Prince's most consistant string of strong material?

hmmm.
I don't think he's ever had a run of that. But during the 80's (1999 to Graffiti Bridge) he had a run of albums that seemingly re-invented him with each new release. Every one of those albums for me was like: After COME, the albums became predictable, less inspired, more patchy, and eventually, similar sounding. (with the exception of Rainbow Children of course). . [Edited 2/23/07 20:46pm]

Most people? Better tell that to the hordes of folks who jumped off of the bandwagon when Around the world in a day followed Purple Rain. [Edited 2/23/07 21:24pm] "New Power slide...."
