Why do you think we haven't heard an announcement yet about a new album and tour. I believe there is a new album ready and he is preparing to launch a tour, but things seem awfully quiet right now. Do you thing P is negotiating with a magor? Has anybody heard anything?

you're right, he has been awfully quiet. i hear he keeps doing weekend shows at some club and he did a little medley thing in the middle of a football game a while back, but other than that not a peep!

You got me there! By awfully quiet, I mean that I expeted, coming off the Superbowl performance and then his attendance at the Grammys. to hear something concrete about a tour and album. I think I am anticipating a new album a bit more right now. I really have the itch for some new Prince music. We got Guitar, but I want more!

he'll announce a tour one day, tix will go up for sale the next, and the weekend after is the first show of the tour.

I guess I'm just more curious about a new album. Musicology and 3121 release dates were announced very much in advance. If he does hit the road in April. I would expect a new album to be out before that. And it's almost March. All we have got so far is Guitar, which I don't think will be tied to any album.

Can P possibly be prepping an album while doing his Vegas gig? I really don't think so. At least not any brand new material.

I'm expecting some Vault material. Which may be a good thing.

I think the tour is def. gonna happen, Every rumor is matching up with every rumor. It's just a matter of time till he annouces it. As for an album I'm not so sure. Maybe an internet only album. I was thinking maybe a covers album released only on the net. Just because he seems to be playing an awful lot of covers of late. Even at the super bowl. Just a thought.

I remember during the ONA tour,I attended the DC shows and came home on a Monday to find out that they just added a date for that coming Sat. 35 miles from my home and I just knew that I missed the presale, but I looked and the presale was the next morning on Tuesday only 4 days before the show.My seats were on the front row and it was one of the best times I ever had at a Prince show, and I was sick with a cold to boot.

Prince might just take a short time off after the Rio gig, but we might hear of something new in the summer

i think it's called crap marketing, nothing new in P world!.

Everbody seemed convinced that Prince would follow the success of the Superbowl with a tour/and or new album right after. I was pretty sure he wouldn't; he just doesn't do the obvious. He might be planning a tour right now but that doesn't mean he couldn't go off the idea at the drop of a hat. And I'm always amazed at people who say he must have a new album ready; since he is constantly recording, he could put together an album whenever he chooses to with already recorded stuff, not even old vault stuff but recently recorded stuff, so in a way he is always on the brink of having a new album out. But I do think a stumbling block is who to sign with to market it, he has tried out several one-off album deals and another one doesn't seem in the works at the moment or that company would be crowing about snapping Prince up by now.

He doesn't have any plans for a tour or a new album. If he did, he'd announce it.

And let's not forget the recent anoucment of the Police tour.
My guess is, Prince was about to make an anouncement concering future shows but the Police thing cause him to put it off for a while.

Once things slow down a little, expect something. That seating chart appearance at ticketmaster.ca has me thinking something's in the works.
