Just bought "Exodus" - any good? I'm one of those orgers who kind of lost enthusiasm for Prince and NPG in the mid 90's, so I only just bought Exodus. Still at work, wasting company time on the net, so won't hear it til I get home. Is it good?

The jams are great, the only real stinker for me is "Cherry Cherry". The long segues are funny the first time you hear them, but they get a bit annoying after a few listens. *** / ***** Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

I love it.
Count The Days The Good Life Cherry Cherry Get Wild and especially Return Of The Bumpsquad is off the hook. If you like it, be sure and get all of the B-Sides and Remixes too, there are lots. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I never liked all that "I is one tough motherfucking nigga" posing, myself - always thought it was a bit naff.
Besides that, however, the grooves themselves are pretty damn funky - but with a rhythm section like Michael B and Sonny T, how can you go wrong?!

I LOVE Cherry, Cherry I just wish it was Prince singing it. Reminds me of Another Lonely Xmas. Also, Exodus is so funky and rails against the record industry and goes on for EVER. I love that shit! [Edited 2/23/07 10:29am]

It's a great album. It's the little funkay brother of The Gold Experience!
Prince was never capable of doing a tune like Hallucination rain...

Can you list all of the B-sides/ Remixes?? Thanks Peep this site: http://www.dawnation.com/...o-npg.html In my opinion, the best version of The Most Beautiful Girl In The World can be found on the Get Wild 3-track CD. It's an instrumental, with Erik Leeds on sax playing the vocal lines. This is the only CD with this version on it. And the Count The Days 3-track CD has a completely different version of New Power Soul than on the NPG New Power Soul album. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Three things bug me about this cd: 1) the segues - hearing once or twice is fine but after a while they begin to annoy 2) the excessive cussing - I swear like a sailor and it was irritating hearing people swear just for the hell of it. 3) Prince does not sing lead on all the songs. - my biggest peeve with this album. Other than that it's a pretty good cd from that era. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
