I've was wondering, after reading all the comments about the movie "Graffiti Bridge", whether ya'll think it makes less sense than "3 Chains O' Gold". Personally, I don't think "Graffiti Bridge" is as confusing as "3 Chains O Gold", plus I also think it's better, but I would have to choose the Symbol album over the "Graffiti Bridge" soundtrack (less filler songs on the Symbol album). What do ya'll think?

I never thought 3 Chains of Gold was confusing...The Sybol album explanes the story..but in 1992 mabye earley 93 i taped Act I & II cbs specials that had extra, extended, cut sceens.Years later when the 3CoG video was released the storys changed a little..
Graffiti Bridge through me off at first...So Ingrid dies at the end to bring every one back together..and show them they all want the same things Love, God , music, friendship.. right

i never quite understood the whole 3 chains of gold thing. even after
we got to hear the deleted segues and see the entire video it was all
just a mysterie to me what exactly the "3 chains of gold" are supposed
to be (they're 3 parts that build up the symbol, but why? and for what
reason?)

all that both the album and the video seemed like to me was a long and
extensive loveletter/horn-fest directed to mayte. the original story of
the album might have got a bit lost in all that.

it's like an album and video loosely based on mythology. except here,
the mythology is not known, it's just in prince's head.

so, for instance, it's like an album based loosely on bits and pieces
of Homer's Odyssee, without anyone ever having heard of Homer.

that's what it feels like to me. prince created the mythology and then
recorded an album loosely based upon that without either one explaining
the other.

the comic book, kind of makes it sound like the person who holds all 3 chains is the ruler of egypt (or wherever mayte is sappose to be from) kind of like stocks, the more you have, the more power you have.

i have one of those, the one with him in minneapolis with the flame
background and him with the yellow cloud on the front.

there are 3 comic books the 1st was just a rock n roll one
the second was alter ego - where he was battling his evil side
the last was 3 chains o gold - where maytes father was killed and she gave prince 2 chains and in the end retrieved the 3rd.
