Yeah, I've seen it. Actually, I printed it out (luckily the computer lab printer prints on both sides of the paper) right after I started floating on in response to the SuperBowl.
I gotta wonder though, how much of the stuff on there is true? I'd like to hear from all the Prince fans on here. Do you think that the information is pretty accurate? Because you never know with Wikipedia because with most papers, anyone can add w/e they want. However, Prince's page is "semi-protected", so only a handful of people could edit if they wanted to, so that makes me feel a little better about the reliability of it. It's weird, though, on the first page, it says that he's known to be a perfectionist and difficult to work with. Based on the recent interviews/apperances he's made, I don't see that at all, the "difficult to work with" part. He looks like he's matured and gotten past that state of mind, but he is quite the perfectionist. I still believe that. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. Mostly seems to be OK but there are quite a few inaccuracies. Uptown's info
is much more accurate and informative.

I don't like Prince's wikipedia page much...it has too much rumor stuff about who he was rumored to have dated (everyone he worked with according to the article) and rumors about his baby and other stuff. I'm going to try to register and change some of it, but they'll probably change it back.
There's a page of the Purple Rain movie and I changed that...it said that it was "semi-autobiographical", which of course is wrong. [Edited 3/3/07 1:52am]

Wikipedia is known for it's inaccuracies, so I wouldn't put too much into what is on there, that's one of the reasdons it has to be updated and corrected over and over.

[Edited 3/3/07 1:52am] I'd believe that at least 1% of it was autobiographical, at least that's the way Prince seems to put it. He talked to Oprah about one scene that was autobiographical, barely 1%, I'm sure is. But the fact its semi-protected (Prince's paper) puts me at ease, meaning that only certain people can change it. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. [Edited 3/3/07 1:52am] Purple rain is semi autobiographical. In Purple Rain the kid played a singer songwriter musician who grew up in Minnesota well that is true about Prince. In PR the kid's daddy was a former piano jazz player, Well,Prince's daddy was a jazz musician in a his own local band inthe 1950's.So there are many parts to Purple Rain that are true to Prince on personal story.

I thought the most interesting thing about Wikipedia's postings was that he nicknamed his junk "Valentino," which makes the lyrics of "Private Joy" and "Manic Monday" much more salacious. Who ever heard of this?

Much of the input for the Wikipedia pages are from the same folks that bring you the Databank Transcription Team. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Did'nt his birthcertificate say Prince Roger Nelson? Or was that a fake?

I've never heard that before and I'm pretty sure it's false.

The copy of it that I saw read "Prince Roger Nelson". His father was in the Prince Rogers Trio. Everytime you try to change the wikipedia entry to remove the "S" someone else puts it back. Oh well... Some people tell me I've got great legs...

Oh well... you would have to post a link to the birth certificate. Or cite a reference, maybe then it would stick. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid
