It's sort of paradoxal to see people going nuts over Prince's cover of the Foo Fighter's song at the Superbowl, when it sounded just like his "Chaos & Disorder" material to my ears. It was afterall an album that got flak everywhere in 1996, but seriously what's the big difference? Straight up rock roffing on the guitar with Prince using his voice - shall we say - less than subtly, ignoring the melodic nuances pretty much all throughout the performance of the song. Add a hasty guitar solo and you got yourself a "C&D" outtake.

And now the same thing is apparently "superb" in the minds of the wider audience?
