Haystack's Random Prince Lots-To-Do thread

1. What's your favourite Prince song?

2. Why does that particular song raise itself above all others for you?

3. Pick one album and re-configure it using ONLY official releases of that time either on the album or linked to it via B-Sides/Remixes/other songs of that era etc. Remember ONLY official releases can be used.

4. Prince does a covers album? Do a dream list of exactly 12 songs to appear on it.

5. Name three songs which you think are better live than studio.

6. Name three songs which you think are better studio than live.

7. Prince isn't perfect - name your least favourite Prince thing, musically or otherwise.

8. Give an honest opinion on a Prince related subject that you know goes against the general opinion on the Org.

9. Oh my! You're the supreme being and for the sake of life in the Universe, you've got to delete one era (including all the music) of Prince's career and it's got to be one from the 80s! Even worse, you have to replace it with one from the 90s. Will your chosen replacement show him to be ahead of his time? Or just plain weird? How will it affect his legacy?

10. Prince opens a new website and asks you for ideas. Show them here, remembering that it's got to make a profit, be great for the fans and constantly draw in new customers.

11. In a Nightmare On Elm Street type scenario, you discover that Prince is really appearing in your dreams just like Freddy Krueger but in a Prince way, not a horror way (or would it be?) What would those dreams be like?

12. And, of course, your tracklist for a new CD of unreleased music.

Old School: "Controversy"

2. Why does that particular song raise itself above all others for you?
I like how Prince just kind of addresses all the rumours that were circulating about him at the time--was he gay, was he totally black, was he religious--then he kind of skirts the issue and makes you dance at the very same time.

3. Pick one album and re-configure it using ONLY official releases of that time either on the album or linked to it via B-Sides/Remixes/other songs of that era etc. Remember ONLY official releases can be used.
I don't want to do that. I think all the albums are perfect as they are. Prince is a musical genius and I'm not messing with his albums! LOL!

4. Prince does a covers album? Do a dream list of exactly 12 songs to appear on it.
I don't know. I don't really want to hear him sing other people's music. I'm still reeling from the Superbowl. (It was GREAT, I was just surprised.)

5. Name three songs which you think are better live than studio.
Purple Rain, Controversy, Face Down.

6. Name three songs which you think are better studio than live.
If I Was Your Girlfriend, Kiss, Dirty Mind.

7. Prince isn't perfect - name your least favourite Prince thing, musically or otherwise. I think my least favorite thing about Prince is when hr lets his stylist put WAY too much gel in his hair. The Gold tour still bothers me becaue I think you could hit him upside the head with a rock and he'd never notice.

8.Give an honest opinion on a Prince related subject that you know goes against the general opinion on the Org. Okay, I think Michael Jackson is a better dancer.

I think Prince has always been ahead of the curve. He's like Elvis of his generation, he pushed and punches the envelope.

10. Prince opens a new website and asks you for ideas. Show them here, remembering that it's got to make a profit, be great for the fans and constantly draw in new customers.
One sentence: WEEKLY PRINCE CHATS--NO MATTER WHERE HE IS OR WHAT HE'S DOING. (For a small, nominal fee of course.)

11. In a Nightmare On Elm Street type scenario, you discover that Prince is really appearing in your dreams just like Freddy Krueger but in a Prince way, not a horror way (or would it be?) What would those dreams be like?
Aw come on man, I can't disclose that on here. A kid might read this! LOL!

12. And, of course, your tracklist for a new CD of unreleased music.

I'd like to see Prince go back to his nasty, sticky, funky roots and release a whole album that will curl your hair and make censors have to use that "Explicit Lyrics" tag as the album COVER!
I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me.
Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots.
Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch
