You know it's not only on the One Night Alone cd but also it's a cover of a song by Joni Mitchell from the 70's right? Reguardless,it's a beautiful song!

It's on the ONE NITE ALONE Cd, also known as the piano Cd...not currently circulating, it was given as a bonus to the ONE NIGHT ALONE...LIVE multi CD pack to members of his club.

You'll appreciate it more if you ever listen to Joni Mitchell's version...

WHAT, someone had to say it...lol

But, give credit where it's due, she wrote a splendid song.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Neither did I....
But did U ever hear a song and already feel like U knew it? That's the way I've always felt about this song- now I know why!
doh!

If you're inclined to seek out the Joni Mitchell version, I suggest hunting down the live version from her Miles of Aisles CD. I like that version of "A Case of You" much more than the version on Blue

Miles of Aisles was the first Joni CD I ever bought (just from wondering who that Joni person was that Prince used to rave about in interviews), and it made a fan out of me.

both his covers are cool, the newer one he did for the one night alone cd
and the live shows and also the one he did live in 1983 (that was an even
better version).

the only complaint i have about his cover is that he only does one verse,
and not even the first one, lol.

still a nice cover though.

Probably because (at least when he first did it in 1983) it would have made no sense for him to sing about drawing a map of Canada with someone's face in it.

Not in 1983, he wasn't (she was probably about 5 years old then). He had the song pretty well established by the time she came on the scene.

And anyway...it still wouldn't make sense. I mean...how many Americans have enough geographical savvy to draw a map of Canada? rolleyes lol
