The Beautiful Ones and A Million Days Absolutely love both of these days. I've often classified them together simply on the grounds that both of them start a little bit slow and end with a very passionate Prince, passion being with a capital "P".
The Beautiful Ones is simply amazing. Behind Purple Rain, it's my favorite song on the soundtrack. The lyrics are fairly simple, easy enough to understand, but that doesn't take away from the effect the song has. This song is definitely worthy of a live performance, but Prince already figured that out by using it in the movie. Definitely one of my favorite performances in the movie (well, actually they're all great). I've watched the performance a couple of extra times just because he really gets into the act and you can't help going crazy for him. I especially love the instrumental build-up to back Prince's passionate pleas. A Million Days is definitely my favorite one of Musicology. It grabbed me right away and kept my attention throughout. It's format is out of the ordinary, but that's part of its charm. Its appeal lies in Prince speaking from the heart (just the same as in TB1's) and begging for his love to return to him. The lyrics are simple, just as I noted above, but there's one line in this song that I love above all others. You're the perfect picture of what love should look like and I wanna be your frame. Sappy, I know, but who doesn't love Prince sappy? For some reasons, I feel they belong together in the same category, others I don't. I thought it'd just be an interesting thread idea. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Both of these songs r just magnificent.
I love everything about them, from the vocals, 2 the lyrics. They r just incredible. And The Beautiful 1s was the song that got me hooked 2 Purple Rain. A Million Days was the song that kept playing in my head after I heard Musicology.

Not that it's not unheard of, I'm just more accustomed to saying amazing and incredible. A Million Days definitely was the song that stuck in my head the most out of all the tracks on Musicology. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Nobody really seems to care about "A Million Days", though, just because there are more comments on "The Beautiful Ones".
I still can't get over how overly passionate he was in that song. But if you think about it, there's a big difference between the 20 years between them. In "The Beautiful Ones", Prince sounds like a love-crazed teenager (he's 25 or so at the time, but sounds pretty darn close), but in "A Million Days", he's a bit more mature about the whole thing and doesn't "lose his mind" until the last 30 seconds or so of the song. Very strange... but I just made that comparison now. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone
