Considering that he confessed to Oprah on having gone to therapy where they exposed him having schizophrenic traits, I think it's fair to say that he fits the literal definition of "crazy" at least to some degree.

Prince is one of the few stars that is HONEST with himself, so if he wants to act like a rude or arrogant person, it's just because he's being himself.

Most creative people have been called 'crazy' before.

It's called thinking outside of the box.

When I get called crazy, I am flattered razz
If you will, so will I

I think for the most part he says & does odd things not because he's crazy but because he can and he knows people will tolerate it.

Hes got personal issues. His struggle to
live with his conflicts and attain a level of personal satisfaction can be viewed as unorthodox...so fuck anyone who thinks they are capable to judge him.

Well, he's never cut off his ear. Never been accused of molestation. Never murdered anyone, to my knowledge. Never been photographed with a nose full of white stuff.

Genius, yes. Crazy? I hope so. He has survived in a business that trashes young ones every day. Can't be that crazy.

I think he probably should have taken some time off after PR and gone to college. It seems like he could have evolved more intellectually.

His judgement and reasoning is really off sometimes -- judging by statements and logic in some of his rants.

Also, I've been surprised over the years to see how easily influenced he is. I mean he is really easily influenced.

That disturbs me.

yes, we know universities are really producing great thinkers and world class agents of social change. why don't we all suggest some courses for him so he can be the intellectual/person WE want him to be

Like all great artists he's a complete nutball. But I never thought he was a pathological case until I heard his rant on the Rave DVD about how time is a trick and we've only had one birthday and we could be in the fourth millennium. That's straight up crazy talk.

At best he's just in denial about the aging process, doesn't want to accept that he's growing old. At worst, he's a paranoic, inclined to interpret all unpleasant realities as hostile conspiracies.

No, they don't really. Universities brainwash people and produce cookie cutter education.

The best education is empirical ... for the truly free thinker and individualist. This is why you have some grade school drop outs who are even geniuses and great inventors.

But free-form learning is not for everyone and some people need help.

Prince is NOT the free thinker and individualist he wanted everyone to believe once. As I said, he's easily influenced (just look at Larry and religion)...and look how he's reneged on his own creeds. Look at his logic when he rants.

If ever someone needed to be removed from a free form world of their own mangling and put in a structured environment to at least learn proper logic, it's Prince.

Admittedly, He does seem to be in better health and personally accomplish a lot more than anyone in the same age bracket that I know as he rides his delusions. razz

Who knew that his ridiculed symbol logo in 1994 would then be the midpoint icon of the Superbowl with mass pop acceptance in 2007?

I bet he worked it to where the superbowl corp. paid for the stage and he gets to take it on tour now.

.....also, he's never been videotaped pissing on minors. confused

Judging some of the so-called "stars" whose music people buy today, I'll listen to his rantings. If you've ever been associated with Jehovah's Witnesses, and had family members pressure you; had the teachings of everlasting life seem so true....you might have been influenced too.

He's always been searching for some kind of truth and the answers to questions most people never even ask. I hope he finds what it is, rants even louder...and lets us know.

I remember reading somewhere that he once asked a body guard why people say he's crazy..The bodyguard told him it was because he does strange things and doesn't explain them...Personally I agree that he's eccentric and that he has a split personality, but he's a right brain genuis in the purist sense with left brain tendencies just like DaVinci...We are fortunate to be a part of his mad, mad, mad, mad world!!! Remember the Superbowl response "I ain't no fool"
