Shivers Down The Spine

We all know it. Most of us listen to a particular track and it's, like, 'Wow!' - something hits the spot.

Which part of any track sends shivers down your spine?

When I first heard the "...like an echo" part of 'When Eye Lay My Hands On U' I literally had tears in my eyes and a great big smile on my face. Ridiculous! Nothing can explain it; just gives me goosebumps. It was one of those moments when you remember why you love Prince so much.

When I first heard "I like It There" from Chaos & Disorder I was like wow and I had the shivers down my spine ...yes ...
Also the first time I heard Mariah Carey singing My All live was very cool, she has such a powerful voice, now if only she could get her act 2gether and record some decent music...
almost the whole "Low" album by Bowie sends shivers down my spine it's such a huge album, almost unmatched!!!
U2's Until the end of the world -. the line " in my dreams i was drowning my sorrows, but my sorrows learned 2 swim, surrounding me, going down on me, spilling over the brim"
pure class lyrics!!!

“Where in the world did you learn to put your arms around me, and cause my temerature to rise”

Space, universal love remix….

That whole song does it for me. One of those pure, magical Prince moments when it all came together at the right time and in the right place (remix or not!)

“Precious is the baby with the mother, it tells him that his saviour is coming soon” (Or something along those lines).

The Love we Make, Emancipation.

Great bit of a great song. Fantastic harmonies going on there. Shame the album was a bit of a let down on the whole.

The song “So Cruel’ by U2 on Achtung! Baby…… Fantasic. In fact that whole album is brilliant. A masterpiece. And I aint even a big U2 fan.

Smack my Bitch up, The Prodigy. The bit where the big beat stops and it builds up and then slams those drums back in… great stuff right there!….

I am, Im me, Twisted Sister. The whole song, although cliched somewhat now, is brilliant! Also Were not Gonna Take it and Under the Blade… Oh, how that brings back memories.

Killing me Softly, Fugees. Still brings goose bumps when its loud and full of bass.

“As I sit here on the stairs, id rather be alone, if I cant have you right now, ill wait here” Patience, Guns n Roses.

And finaly, as I cant think of anymore, When the sound is pumped to max, the bass is thumping and on comes ……. “Controversy”…. Amazing. Try that one when full of E and Charly……… Mind blowing.

The moment I heard savior I cried a few tears, not because it was a sad song but because, musically it was so beautiful it literally moved me to tears. FLSMW did it to me too.

Here are some ones -

The "hallway" speech in the extended version of the "Beautiful Ones"...

The last few words of "I Love U but I Can't Trust U Anymore" when he winds the song down...

The part in "Good Love" when he goes, "Baby, in the heat of the night - U know what to do." Those notes are perfect.

The entire album "Spilt Milk" by Jellyfish. The best album of the 90's hands down. Anyone know what I'm talking about???

The entire album "This Euphoria" by David Garza. Another obscure one but listen to the song "Discoball World". How did this not sell??? BTW, David covered "Boys and Girls" on the "Austin Sings Prince" tribute album.

Yes, yes, yes...you took the words from my mouth. That's exactly what the whole song is; a climax...and it's a beautiful instrumental song, it doesn't need lyrics...

Loosekiss said: "Saviour' I agree

fms said: "Eye Hate U, ...she falls back in love with me..." Is a reminder of how 'underrated' a song can be, and also we I love Prince so much...

catPrince said: "Wherever U Go, Whatever U Do" you guys are reading my mind today...stop it! smile

"Right now Eye Hate U so much, I wanna make love, until you see, that it's killing me baby (to be without you), cuz all I ever wanted to do...was to bbeeeeaahhHHH WITH YOOOOOUUU! OOWW! Eye Hate U, because Eye Love U, but I can't love because I eye hate U..."

Gotta Love it!

The part where Prince screams melodically and let's it all come out right before the guitar solo in Another Lonely Christmas...whew, that's still incredible.

Bingo g money---especially when he does the line "Last night I spent another lonely lonely xmas" for the last time. The way he enunciates and stress the words "lonmely" is gut wrenching. Church stuff.I got a story on that one but cant write it right now.

He ain't heavy, he's my brother~Donny Hothaway---The way when he said 'he's my brother'.

Distant Lover(live)~Marvin Gaye---At the end when he was crying while singing "Please, p,,,lease OOooh please" is just Ooh.

Fire & Desire~Rick and Teena---Both of them when they started their own verse by saying "FIIIRRREEE" whhheeooo just remembring it right now give me mad chills.

Fool n' love(The movie version)~Tina Turner---The part when Lawrence(IKE) approach to Angela(Tina) and kissed her, after that she sang the intro so painfully "AAAaaahhh,,,something on my mind. Will somebody please, PLEASE! tell me whats wrong??" The part when she began by 'AAAahh' and said the 2nd "PLEASE!" is just speechless in the worst ways. I just fall in love with Tina just becoz if this simple part smile

Lead the way & Butterfly~Mariah Carey---At the end of the song eek damn this sistah. She know how to hit the ears like a bullet, its just she's fucking up and I really hate to see her like this becoz I trully Love her cry. She can sing circles around most of the singers 2day and I KNOW that she can deliver but like I said 'she's fucking up!'

Ok, 4 Prince wink :
-Power Fantastic-Like everybody does

-God

-Sexy Dancer-The intro when he was screaming "AAAaAAaaaAaaaHhhh' OOooh so sexy!

-The opening credit of both o' PR and UTCM. In UTCM, I love it when he was playing piano(The part at the end) he was sooo naughty on that damn thang.

-1999's intro

-Damn U-At the end when he was singing "Daaammnn yooou-hooo, baby you're,,,sooo,,,fiiine"

-The morning papers(Best song in O+>)-His guitar solos blending with the hornz section.

-The funky piano solo in sex in the summer by Ricky Peterson.

-The bass solo in dreaming about ya by Rhona Smith

-The Arabic Orchestra solo in Pink Cashmere

-The Crystal Ball-Everything, just EVERY DAMN THANG!

-Da Bang-The guitar lick on every hook after he says da BANG and hit with a guitar hook,,,now that is SERIOUS like a mofo.

-Comeback-The most moving song by the brotha

-The intro of EVERYWHERE

-The hole of lets play in the sunshine(SOTT MOVIE) esp Sheila E's drums solo.

-The 'If I was yo girl(SOTT MOVIE) pre4mance.

-The hole of 'KISS'(RAVE 2000) is the BEST pre4mance from that damn thang.

Wheeeooo,,,mo 2 come!

Almost the whole Lovesexy live video. That whole show is incredible.

The "please" scream in If I Was Your Girlfriend.

The scream in the middle of Something in the Water

That "Oh" part when he breaks it down on the Man O War remix

The wonderful exchange between guitar and strings on Pink Cashmere

The first time I saw the video for When I Lay My Hands on U, I was like "Whoa". Then the second verse, "The touch you're about to feel is the one you've been wishing for" DAMN

First time I heard Hot Wit U, I fogged up the windows in my car

The One when he sings low and the lyric "Treat every step you take as if you're walking on holy ground"

"What am I gonna do?" from Poom Poom

I can go on and on...
