Anyone miss the attitude Prince had in 99?

He was really open in the press conference and still funky and mildy explict performing darling nikki etc.

I had a video where he's performing 'when will we be paid' and he says before it 'i don;t wanna preach to anyone'. Also in the press conference he says his spirituality is personal.

Just a couple of years later we have hateful, judgemental dogma where Prince is trying to shove his cult down people's throat like a 12" cock.
I know he's said Larry graham changed everything and told him 'the truth'. If only there was no larry he might not have been so hateful and dogmatic.

I really enjoyed that press conference. He was so honest, and spoke so freely about many things. It didn't sound like every word coming out of his mouth was scripted and pre-planned. I felt like I was listening to the real Prince talking.

Don't get it mistaken--Prince was already way in w/ Larry Graham in 1999. Yes, he still performed "Darling Nikki" in 1999. But, he was still preachy--IMO he actually had been preachy since at least '88. However, that Hit n' Run tour was WEAK compared to the One Nite Alone tour.

I certainly don't miss the music or the band he had in '99. So, on balance, no.
