For once and for all... In All My Dreams is Prince at his most inspired (ably assisted by those Girl Bros). I have a friend who, when we heard it back in 88/89 began to dismiss Prince as a whimsical nonentity. A man without soul, without fire. I could not disagree more, if using this song as a basis. In All My Dreams is euphoric mess. It is heaven in your ears. It is a man happy in his work. It is the best unreleased Prince song by a mile and a bit.
I can see and understand those that have problems with it, but, to have problems with it should not, in my opinion, lead to the disregard, ire and vexation this song provokes. In All My Dreams is genius. Deal with it.

In my top 5 favorite Prince outakes. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Best on vinyl as intended, when you can almost sort of "...play my record double speed, hear the climax fit for a king..." My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Co-sign. A great track - haven't heard a Prince track like it. Everybody is special. Everybody. Everybody is a hero, a lover, a fool, a villain. Everybody. Everybody has their story to tell.

Sorry, hate to disagree. Hate the song. Have always hated the song. Will always hate the song. It's a clusterfuck of a shitty track and everything that I disliked about this period of The Revolution. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'll play it first and tell you what it is later. -Miles Davis-

i was just gonna say that it's rather overrated too, but i'll settle for a co-sign. it's a nice song, but...

Ifsixwuz9 - D'you know, this was the first track that me and a fellow Prince-loving friend fell out over. He too thought it was a "clusterfuck of a shitty track"... It's weird how this track divides. I love this track. I think it's creativity in a glass. I adore the bumbling, sprawling mess of noise. It really defines Prince's (and Wendy and Lisa's) voice (for the period). To me, of course.
And yes, I've spoken. So there it is. In All My Dreams IS genius... nuf said. Of course, feel free to disagree.

Personally, I love it! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

It's a great song if only for the lyrics "Goodness will guide us if love is inside us"
He should have called Under The Cherry Moon, All My Dreams and had a happy ending with a performance of the song at the end and it would have been better....maybe
