I cannot seem to find the Japanese Airplay chart at present. Unfortunately, Top40Charts only keeps the Japanese top 20 hits. Mr.Heartbreaker does a good job of tracking radio airplay in Japan, so you may want to check him out. Also, early last spring, I spent a good portion of two slow work days searching for Prince airplay info in Japan. I managed to pull up the playlists for a bunch of radio stations throughout the country. Almost all of them had Black Sweat listed in either their top 10 or top 20. This song was definitely getting high, top 40 caliber, airplay all over Japan. I also managed to find archival info for several stations that showed both Last December and Musicology in their top 10, including as high as #1 and #2 on the most played list, respectively.

I posted it some time ago, but below is a list of the two 3121 singles that managed to break into the Top 40 of the charts, including Black Sweat. Although both BS and TAC were in the Top 100 in many countries, I stuck to the “all important” Top 40 (lol). In most cases, these songs also spent several weeks in the Top 40, instead of just one week and done. These are based on the charts that I have personally seen. Hope this helps a bit.
