Big year on charts? After the Superbowl performance, the hype around P now and what seems to be an impending tour, do you think P has a chance of ruling the charts this year. I thought he might, but I don't think Guitar sounds like a killer lead-off singe. What factors would have to come into play for him to have a big year on the charts? I've got a guitar that can part the sea.

I think Prince had a chance of ruling the charts last year too. But his lead single was Te Amo Cliterous which just didn't work. Coupled with a bory ass video to Black Sweat, and very little promotion of Fury (the obvious first single), it just didn't take off.
Prince needs to hire Britney Spears managers or something. I mean, she sucks total ass, and still sells a million copies of crap.

No matter how potentially commercial an album is, a killer lead-off single has to get the tidal wave going, or the whole project can just stall, and may be dead in the water; sales wise that is. As we all know, this happenend not only last years but on several, if not the majority of P's albums. I've got a guitar that can part the sea.

Love was the single he should have put out. http://www.goldiesparade.co.uk/ - Prince discography, tour history, news and more.

I don't think Prince can have a hit single in the current climate. He's seen as an album artist now, or as a fantastic live performer, but not a single seller. Besides which, he refuses to play the promotion game and bribe the radio stations to add his singles to the playlists - without that, you don't really get anywhere in the States.

Guitar does sound like a killer lead off-single. Killer of any momentum he may have gotten from the superbowl that is

If Black Sweat couldn't hit...he doesn't really have a chance anymore.
