And yeah, abierman, I think he would be intimidated by your size. 6'5" is tall. But you got to shake his hand, that's really cool. I could just see his smile.

I get a blast out of hearing fan encounters, end of story.

I also got to shake his hand at the aftershow in Vegas last month (all details posted in Concerts forum). All I could bring myself to say was "thank you, thank you". Really, that was the only thought in my head at the time, I was truly just so thankful for the experience he had just provided. I was like 3rd or 4th to shake his hand, and he just kind of nodded. If you haven't been, you must understand the size of this room. It's SO small. Weeks later, I am still just overwhelmed with gratitude- it's not like he's doing aftershows to make money, he does it because he wants to play and share the music with us. I cannot think of a greater gift for his fans.

and yes, he smelled great! and yes, I guess to some he seems small that close up, but I'm almost exactly his height so I really didn't notice. oh, and I found that while he was playing, if I thought he was looking right at me, I had to look away after a few seconds. I can't explain the feeling any better than that- me seeing him up close is one thing, but feeling like he was seeing me? Suddenly that just made the whole thing real, and that was so exciting it was scary.

It was a bit of an understanding at the time that if you wanted to be cool you DID NOT bug Prince at First Ave, so I just stood there trying to pretend like I didn't notice this little guy dressed in a red jumpsuit with a Liza Minelli haircut. It was just Prince standing there with two bodyguards, and me and my two friends.
