....we are sure about this thing 90%....There will be something this spring before this summer.....but in Prince's World nothing is 100% sure even 1 day before the Release of a New Album (Remember all the Prince Projects killed at the last minute by Him)

The announced press release DID happen... That was the press conference performance.

There was no information whatsoever coming from that press conference show. So in this respect, that mail was not accurate, as it spoke about "press release". And there was no release, only a performance.

Further, some more recent tour announcements that were supposed to be done didn't happen as well.

The e-mail never said there would be any info released or any questions answered. It is clearly referring 2 the press conference.

I think it means March '07 (as in 2007), not March 7th.

I've stated my doubts about this e-mail, though.

Ok. but still if he was on a Label than something would be going on by now. My guess is that its going to be something independant. Also "Guitar" doesnt seem tied to a label either, i know Prince likes to sign his 1 album deals last minute but this would be very last minute. I did call a person a used to work with who was a Buyer in the RB market for a music chain and she does write for Vibe now and then and she hasnt heard a word about anything yet. Just to speculate on the "title" possibly this is the Roadhouse Garden recordings that he put on the back burner 8 years ago.

Prince does not need a label to distribute his music. He can easily do it himself via online means.

Yeah, but that's just not enough reason 2 peg it as a fake.

There were many times in the past, when I didn't get an NPG e-mail that others did get.

Right which is why i said "if" there is a March release its going to be something independant, more along the lines of distribution that he did for "News" or "The Rainbow Children". Though im guessing this is going to be something to do with Roadhouse Garden and that era of outtakes and unreleased recordings.

I don't think it will be. I'd like it to be, but I don't think that'll happen.

Understood. But, at least there were a bunch of other members who did (even when there were just as many who didn't). What's the numbers looking like for those members who did received this email? I'd be curious to know...

Have any of you guys pondered that someone has collected a variety of email addys for the purpose of sending out emails like this one?

It's not like we'll have to wait that long. Though I don't know why he remains so secretive about it all. Most artists will announce well in advance that they have something coming out. It's like if even the news gets out about it, he cancels the whole thing.

I hear U, but U must remember that Prince used 2 do things this way back in the day... How much advance notice did the public get about 'Around The World in a Day'?

Well he did hint at it in his PR tour program. wink But for the most part, these days, announcements are normally made and dates set by all the major artists.

It came from a Yahoo address, it's for a Wednesday, there's been no mention of it from Prince or anyone else, no offense to anyone, but this is obviously a fake. I've never understood the bizarre nature of so many Prince fans that enjoy creating fake tracklists and album news.

dude your in the business? Do you know Federico Gonzales Pena?
[Edited 2/7/07 8:36am]

Yes, and HELL YES, I know Freddie. I lived in D.C. from 1994-1999, and was hangin' with Freddie quite a bit back then.

He is, by far, one of THE baddest keyboard players I've ever seen. He's a human octopus... I've seen him play his MOOG and his KORG with his left hand, while his right hand played an upright piano.

How do U know him?

good friends with him and his wife...have know him for close to 10 years. Haven't spoke to him much lately but thats my boy. He plays crazy keys...baby making music!

this is what i thought when i first saw "Revolution" ... he's into covers, why not this one

Revolution off Colossal Head
(David Hidalgo/Louie PĂ©rez)

Where did it go?
Can't say that I know
Those times of revolution
Of burnin', burnin', burnin'
All so cool and gone
What was, just was

We tried, my brother
To hold on to our fate
Or was it late for revolution?
To tired, too tired, sister
To hold my fist so high
Now that it's gone

Too tired brother, sister
To hold my fist so high
Now that it's gone
Gone away.

Where did it go?
Can we say we know
Those times of revolution
Our time of revolution

I'm 99.9% convinced that this is fake.

Considering one of the most popular points of discussion among Prince fans is a Revolution reunion, how convenient is it that this email gets selectively sent out with absolutely zero information about an album besides that particular title?

Very convenient, I say. As always, I won't believe anything until it hits from a more official source.
I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

What a great title. Bet the band gets back together in less than five years. Begin clock...NOW.
