I've been readin alot on the org forum that nobody wants prince to remaster his old stuff cuz they are afraid it will come out like the 1999 new master. I really happened tolike the 1999 new master cd single. I like how he added the salsa like flavor to the extended version of it and all the remixes were good too.

This exact timing is the BEST time 2 release "4 U" & "prince" in a Neo-Soul vibe don't you think??

Attention Prince: DO NOT fuck with your old recordings. You will ruin your legacy. Put your 70's/80's albums out with a crystal clear, modern sound and you'll make a boatload of cash. That 2disc set you did of remakes will be interesting to hear but when you get around to doing the full albums PLEASE leave them alone. Thank you.

I love 1999: the New Master! However, when he does re-release his old albums, I want them to be unchanged.

I like 1999 the New Master. So what if he comess out with different versions of the songs. Than you can have the old and the new. It's just like the 12 inch singles, Some of them are great.

I personally do NOT like the new masters. I tried...but just couldn't get into it. I don't think I've listened to that CD since the week I purchased it.

This is exactly how I feel! I know Prince has become a JW and all,but you can't rewrite history!! Let the old albums stand as they were originally recorded.Do not go back and re-record these albums, editing out the bad words, etc.Just remaster each CD,and throw in some bonus tracks, extensive liner notes and rare photos.

I really liked Rosie's scat on one of the cuts.

That was very cool.

I hated this piece of crap.

As for rerecording his old albums, he WILL fuck them up. He's not free to sing what he's written.

Listening to the 1999 remaster was about as fun as watching the Facts Of Life reunion show.

It was a cornball remix with tacked on embelishments that took away from the original feel.

Prince used to have some tight ass mixes. The Get Off maxi was an absolute blast, each mix was different, unique and amazing. Even some of his mixes circa 94 were pretty cool too.
