That part is fucked up.

The poor guy lost a bet with someone, and his punishment was that he had to use the puppet in his upcoming movie. That scene was the most logical place to stick it in.

That part of the movie is SO cute!

He totally reminds me of the Buffalo Bill serial killer character in Silence of the Lambs when he does that scene.

I swear to god, I always expect him to shove Apolonia down some dark well, only to force her to lotion herself every couple of hours.

Because if he had a pop-up penis the ratings would never have allowed it to be PG

I had that puppet and can't believe I lost it (not the one prince used, one just like it) I found it at a puppet shop in 1985 and it was sooooo cool.. anyway, isn't it just showing that Prince can't deal with his REAL relationships well, so confides with a puppet????

I was just trying to be creative. I think he uses the puppet to say things that he doesn't have the courage to say himself, like a mask to hide behind. It seems very Prince to me.

Another one of his alter-egos I guess, he didn't have any other friends in that movie except Apples and he slapped her!

as for answering your original question....it's just a movie...it's fiction, who knows why he talked to the puppet (I never even though it was a monkey?) perhaps cause he felt alone...and had no one else to let his feelings out to?
