That makes no sense, lol.Generally,a golf course isn't a place where "hoes" hang out at.

Except when you consider a ho is also a garden tool. hmmm

Thinks some people sometimes seek TOO much in Princes lyrics...

This line is spoken out by someone within a party crowd, alltough its Prince using his own voice for this line, he is in 'character' here, just 'copying' some of the bravoury lines drunk / coked up people at a party sometimes use.

You have to see this in context: look at the anti-drug lyrics of Eye No before this segue, and the positive message of the song after it: Alphabet street.

How come if a "straight" man has had SOME homo sex, then he's labeled GAY.

Yet, if a GAY man has had some hetero sex he's not labeled a STRAIGHT?

That makes them both bisexual.

The weakness of gay men on Prince.org is that they are constantly trying to claim Prince as being part of 'their' movement...

We don't have to claim him. The straight world outside the org sees him as one of us also. The only ones that can't see it are the straight people on the org.

vainandy,

Prince is on of the most brave heterosexual men in history.

The fact that homosexuals seem to 'claim' him in here, tells about their opportunism and that they are wrong in the first place.

Not necessarily. The guy could've been curious about same-sex relationships.

I can accept the fact that it's possible that he could be a "brave heterosexual". Can you accept the fact that it's possible that he could be a "homosexual in denial"?

As a gay man, I'll be sure to tell that reasoning to someone the next time I'm called a faggot and see if that changes their mind. That's just a bisexual man's exuse (only when they get caught) to get out of experiencing the hate that many of them themselves inflict on us. They want to enjoy the same pleasure that we do but they ain't got the strength to accept the pain.

So you think Prince is GAY ???

I, as a straight man, think he's tried it,
but is a heterosexual. Does THAT make him bisexual?

No. But the part in Anna Stasia where he mentions extacy can make you go with any boy or girl.

I still don't think Prince is all that attracted to men.

Help me to remember, what part was that? confuse
[Edited 2/8/07 10:46am]

I don't recall him mentioing E in that song, but he does say

Have you ever been so lonely that you would play with anyone, boy or girl?

Or bi.

Or curious.

Or open-minded.

Or fooled around with another guy or two under the influence of alcohol or E.

Or having a touch of trans in him.

Or just a guy who prefers wearing women's clothing and makeup -no debate there, really.

Thing is, Prince could be any number of things. If you can think of it, there's the possibility of him at least having tried it. None of us can know for sure, because none of us really know him as well as we might like to think we do. All we have to work with is scraps of knowledge either handed to us sparingly or guessed at over the years. Only the man himself knows for sure what's going on, and that's the way it should be.

BUT

Considering how much Prince has made sex, sexuality, and gender part of his public persona and act as a performer, I don't think it's unreasonable or out-of-bounds to have a mature discussion about sex as it relates to him either. I mean, if entire academic theses can be written on Bowie's use of sex, (I read a great one, Ziggy: Gender As Rebellion not long ago. If I can find it again, I'll link it) why can't we, as Prince fans, ask what was behind Anna Stesia? Specifically that line? Why is it so taboo in the fanbase of a man famous for being prettier than most of his girlfriends to wonder if he could truly be called a heterosexual man in the traditional sense? Or to wonder why he moves like a woman -something a lot professional female impersonators have trouble with?

It seems to me the fanbase as a whole has a lot of issues to deal with, considering the person they worship.

And Riverpoet -it's just as silly to get angry about gay male fans supposedly "claiming" Prince as theirs as it is to rabidly defend his assumed heterosexuality. So stop it.

That's a trickier question. Not everybody who's been with both sexes is bi.

No, because the section is ACTUALLY out of context. It's a leftover from the original Crystal Ball sessions. It was part of the background talk between "The Ball" (which was later re-recorded as "Eye No") and "Joy In Repetition". In the original case it was all to setup a particular mood as indicated by the opening lyrics of JIR. On LoveSexy it just kind of hangs there as a random oddity.

If you listen to the Graffiti Bridge album you can hear some of this same background talk in it's original context on JIR.

Funny, I don't see any gay people going out of their way to 'claim' Prince. Indeed, I see straight people label him as gay or a fag but it's my experience that most gays don't really give a toss about him.

Let's just say everybody's some degree of Switch and get on with our lives. Keeping the gender options open de-complicates things a whole wonderful much. smile

Cause the straight world says you're a faggot if you have had sex with men and the gay world says you're just in denial if you've had sex with women.
Both are guilty of polarizing sexuality. Creating a line; a barrier.
And I still say Jonathan Loved David and yet both were married men.

who are Jonathan & David?
