why cant people laugh at prince a little. i mean he is silly. sometimes he takes himself too seriously - sometimes he can make fun of himself. think about some of his antics. the pants he wore at the mtv awards, a hat with chains that cover his face, all the lace he used to wear, and those are just his clothes. i can go on and on about ways he sets himself up to be made fun of in the mainstream media. he kind of asks for it. really, i bet if he saw that letterman clip he might laugh at it. laugh all the way to the bank really. no such thing as bad press. i have to admit mixing him and michael jackson up is a little ignorant but its all in good fun. and if the joke bombed thats letterman's problem.

letterman is so much better than leno. leno can't interview anyone and never takes a risk. letterman sometimes takes chances and can be controversial. and i always feel like leno is racist for some reason. i dont know what it is. probably the way he talks to his band members.

CONAN is the best though. cant wait til he is on at 10 30 instead of 11 30.

I saw that last night. I would have posted, but when I posted about the "nobody saw my audition tape" comment, nobody responded, so I thought no one would care. I guess the Superbowl buzz has everyone riled up!

It was stupid, tho. I generally like Letterman, but that joke bombed. The other night that guy was dressed up like Hillary Clinton, so his whole schtick is getting old fast.
I agree- when it's funny, there is no harm in laughing at a Prince jibe.

Princey sets himself up alright. I even get tired of all the over the top facial expressions during his guitar solo's, it doesn't add anything to the performance for me. We all know your a bad ass just play the damn electric. It's like his expressions have gone from a partial element to his show to a full on seizure. Kind of like he's over compensating for the lack of dancing. Your thoughts?

I love a good Prince joke as much as the next guy but keep the jokes current (unless you are joking about particular things in the past). Usually whenever a comedian tells a joke about Prince, it usually consists of one of these three things.....

The Assless Pants
The Symbol Name Change

All these things are ancient history.

Part of the joke was to make it as stupid as possible and off from anything remotely correct about the guy - like they always do with their impressions of celebs on that show.
