Kiss-The Long Version, a forgotten P Classic?

What do other people think. I didn't hear this until a few months ago and think it is about one of the greatest things I heard Prince do. Supernaturally fonky!

Forgotten by whom?
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Oh my god isn't that Prince on the television? Is he the strangest lookin' thing you've ever seen or what?

LOVE this version. The DJ played the extended version last October at the afterparty to the black-tie fundraiser my company does every year and everyone was dancing to the regular part, but then when it went extended I was the only one who knew all the words and was dancing! lol

They used to play it quite frequently at Prince Night in Chicago...everyone would do the soul clap when it went extended. dancing jig
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

Oh my God, isn't that Prince on Television Soul? Is he the STRONGEST looking thing you've ever seen or what?

Hell yeah! I got the 12 Inch when it first came out and hardly ever fucked with the original version again. The cover of my 12 Inch looks warped though. You don't want to know how it got that way. lol

All the places I searched have 'strangest'. (dtt, etc.) shrug I'll have to go listen again...

agreed , Kiss is perfection as it is and DOES NOT REQUIRE a lame comedy sketch at the end , it doesnt improve on the song in any way .
Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

Maybe not but those synths improved it.

SHOCKED that anyone doens't like the extended version!!!

It's Prince at his best.... and showing his sense of humour.

THe synths rocks..... Eric's Bartione sax.....

And i'm pretty sure it's "Strangest looking thing".

and it's "Sol" they keep saying... like Sophis is talking to her husband.

I have a suspicion it's Susannah playing Sophie not Wendy.

Ooooooh, yes.

I mean, listen to those horn shots!

A little bit behind the beat...

I mean, just enough to turn ya on. wink

I can't help but make funny faces when I hear that shit!

And the best part is, folks who don't like the extended version can just lift the needle before the extended portion begins (unlike the I Wish U Heaven extended, which has a marvelous Part 2 and 3, but whose Part 1 is pretty limp, compared to the album version).
PRINCE: the only man who could wear high heels and makeup and STILL steal your woman!

to me it's just how all the instruments work together so well, all those sounds. There was a time when his extended versions improved upon the singles, Let's Go Crazy was one, I mean how the best part used to end up being the parts that came after what the radio would play. I Wanna Be Your Lover on the Album is the beginning of this. Little Red Corvette is the epitome of what I'm talking about. The portion after the regular verse-chorus-solo-verse-chorus takes the song to it's highest heights. Emotionally and creatively he would improve upon the single.
