I see it leaning in that direction.

He's getting alot more respect and props from media since 2004 than he ever has in his career.

It's a natural part of his career. People tend to respect older musicians more even if they're not in heavy rotation.

I'm just kind of waiting on Prince to do another career ending P&R stunt though. It feels weird that he's not fucking things up. lol

I think in the next two years. Prince will make the biggest comeback of his life.

This IS his comeback. What? 60 million viewers of the Superbowl. Never a bigger audience.
Unfortunately, and I can say this because I'm older, you can't keep up the hectic pace as in your youth. Not naturally, anyway. Osteoarthritis, hormone changes (it's not just women, men have this too) vision, hearing loss, arteriosclerosis....
What he's doing now on stage is reasonable for a man his age. Mature and sophisticated.

you know he almost doesnt need hips does he? Seriously Prince is so good at guitar at this stage in his career.... yes he needs to concentrate on ensuring his legacy and that needs to be as a guitar player in my opinion

Just watching that news conference the other day was staggering...he barely moved but didn't have to because he was so charasmatic and command that stage so well....let alone the obvious guitar skills

That's funny (The way it's worded), but it's true. I prefer when he's playing and singing. What does dance have to do with anything? Especially at this point...it seems more like a gimmick that he doesn't need.

well I don't know about gimmick...I just think physically he is unable to do that kind of stuff any more and I also believe he matured. That hes not running across the stage doing the splits etc...

Back in the day Prince would play that guitar, sing, dance, play key boards/piano, and the drums and it was unbelievable. These days he sings, slides and dips a little and rips that guitar and my jaw still drops!!! Hes simply an incredible live performer

I understand but if he did all that now or attempted to, it would seem more like a gimmick. The progression to music alone (or music mostly) seems natural.

Compared to his peers I think he does very well. Michael Jackson and Madonna don't move the same way they did when they were in their 20's. Age catches up to everyone sooner or later.

its wasn't criticism as much as it is just a plain and obvious observation

I'd love just a pure instrumental rock guitar album... Stuff like Alexa De Paris maybe...

I guarantee that would bring a whole new legion of fans. wink

It's interesting, because he is becoming much more guitar oriented like he was early in his career (80/81). Ever since the Parade tour Prince was as much focused on dancing as he was on his guitar. Now things are coming full circle. That being said, the man still dances better than most out there today.
