Wall said: The guitar solos are technically sound but lacking in any emotion or intensity (not to mention incredibly short) and the lyrics are so trite, tired and hamfisted that I seriously wonder if that area of his craft isn't completely dry. Granted, lyrics were never his strongest area, but heavens, this track's lyrics are 8th grade at best. No offense intended but, this is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard on here. Prince is one of the most prolific songwriters of our time. Sure, sometimes the lyrics aren't all that deep, but when you write that many songs, you have to take the lighter route now and then. There's a book by someone named McGinnis that fully analyzes a lot of his lyrics. Read it- you might change your mind about this statement. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

I don't need a book of someone else's opinion to tell me what to think of Prince's lyrics. And taking the lighter route is what he's been doing in terms of lyrics for a long, long time. Did I say he was a bad lyricist? No, I didn't, but it's not imho what he's best at, never has been, and if Guitar is an indication of things to come, ever will be. No hard feelings.

Kind of reminds me of Lolita - in that it approaches the fun and feel of early Prince gems, but this too falls short somehow.

3 minutes.
It has potential, but a tight little package, it ain't, baby! Somebody already said it somewhere, but after the first listen, "Back in the USSR" by the Beatles was stuck in my head, cuz of the chorus! It's catchy, and I really like that guitar trickery at the end, but it's absolutely too short to really make an adequate assessment. When's the 12" comin' out??? "Whatever skin we're in

"Damn! Prince took my money again!"
This is not good. He would have been better off releasing the Super Bowl Press Conference. "The first time I saw the cover of Dirty Mind in the early 80s I thought, 'Is this some drag queen ripping on Freddie Prinze?'" - Some guy on The Gear Page

He's hit a new low! WoW! uninspired drivel. I like the lyrics and the guitar solos, The vocal delivery was so lame, although the effect on his voice was cool.I guess i don't totally hate it, but I don't think this will grow on me.Sad.....

I wasn't suggesting you should get your opinion from someone else, I only meant that reading a literary look at his lyrics just might provoke you to think more highly of some songs. As far as the lighter route- sometimes that's exactly what people want. I'm a Floyd fan but can't listen to them everyday. And I would guess maybe Prince hasn't been inspired to write any "deep" lyrics lately. Once you're a millionaire, have married (and divorced) a few beautiful women, own your own studio, and are a generally happy person, it 's probably tough to write the "blues" so to speak. And unfortunately, IMO, the JW thing is the only thing inspiring him these days. Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"

I was hoping it would sound more like the Hendrix-Foo track(at least the vocals) but Prince kind of put the expectation there by putting that vibe out so close to this song.

I used a debit card! Portuguese banks offer a service called MBnet that enables us debit card users to shop online...it creates a virtual card with a certain limit that can be used only once
