4 the true football afficiando...the site www.profootballtalk.com is a great site 4 football news and even rumor. From their daily rumor mill yesterday...they mention Prince and his 10 minute "press conference" (with a link 2 the Casper Tribune that does not work by the way) and ask if Erotic City is an appropriate song 4 a half-time show. lol A great site though if U are really in2 football...as many NFL people read the site and contribute inside info on a daily basis. (Including my friend who scouts 4 Washington who hooked me up 2 the site.) smile Worth checking out...and I look 4ward 2 their live blog during the Super Bowl.

Whenever it's aired in the UK, there's always a lot of bumpf pre and post-match, talking about team logistics and strategies etc. But it'll be right after the 2nd quarter.

Best advice? Buy a LONG videotape or set your DVDr for the superbowl and only that.

Alternatively, don't forget that this being the age of the information superhighway, it'll be online within the hour most likely anyway.

American Football does not have a set format. It can take ages to get through 15 minutes of play. Each team has a number of time out's that they can use throughout the game which could make 15 mins of play last up to 45 mins.

They play in 4 Qtrs. Only 30 mins play but as I said before that can take an age!

I've got a friend ringing me just b4 half time to wake me up! Good luck!

Watch the Twins in the beginning when Prince starts backing up on the arrow part ....made me laugh so hard ....like they are freakin out so funny and the one in the white does not hit her mark and is standing (again)...right under Princes feet like shes tryin to trip him ...she needs to get on her mark on the sides of the arrow. lol .....i never thought or said anything about any of his dancers before Mayte was GREAT! ...as for the Twins they where kinda a nice 70,s kinda add to what i thought would be (A) song ..(The Fury)...but every song....i must say its starting to get embarrassing.

From an Indy news blog...

February 2, 2007

As the teams run through their final practices before the Super Bowl, others involved with the game are practicing too. Last night at Dolphin Stadium in Miami, it was time to practice the half-time show. The program features Prince, who apparently is a guy who does not like to leave anything to chance.

Prince played to an empty stadium, and because there were no people in the seats to absorb the sound -- the music spilled over the top of the bowl to the assembled press, security guards, and maintenance workers in the parking lot.

The sound was clean, and I can give you a preview of what you will hear on Super Bowl Sunday. "Let's Go Crazy" is on the play list. And, of course, the big finale will be Prince's signature song "Purple Rain". But, wait, it gets even better. As the final song builds, the stadium will shoot off fireworks. Purple fireworks, that will look like they are "raining" down over the sides of the stadium bowl (get it?). For Prince fans, it wil be a great show. Then, there are guys like me who are not really all that taken with the "formerly-named-after-an-unpronouncable-symbol" singer. But, even for me, it sounded pretty good.

My guess is that the half-time show will be a great success this year (assuming no "wardrobe malfunctions" take place). Just don't forget to make the switch after the game to Channel 13. We'll be working hard to cover it well, and (again assuming no "wardrobe malfunction") my money is on Dave Calabro to do the best post-game job in town. The rest of us here will be busting our tails to help. See you on Super Bowl Sunday!

Sounds like it's going to be a great halftime show. I just hope the weather holds up. Rain is in the forecast, scattered showers thru out the day. Hopefully the rain will stop by halftime. I don't if the halftime show will go on as planned if it's raining.
