What in the world would a Prince and the Revolution album sound like now?

I highly doubt that the new album will have the Revolution on it. It'd have to be super duper hush hush for him to pull it off.I have a real hard time even imagining what that line up could possibly sound like now. W&L I think would be OK as they have stayed with music and are now even more accomplished. The only drummer I can see is Shelia.

Part of me thinks the announcement would be huge and would probably revitalize interest in him, but I am not sure about the payoff.

on the verge of being negative... my two cents about a Prince and the Revolution album is that it will sound out-dated and out of style.

A Prince and the Revolution album would sound horribly dated and far too retro.

An album that included many contributions from the ex-Revolution members that are now individual artists who have grown in their own right would be fantastic.

Deep down, I'd love the new Prince CD to be called 'Revolution' as a tribute to it's supporting artists. But I'm pretty certain that there is no CD called Revolution to get excited about. But I'm pretty sure that there will be a new CD to get excited about imminently.

That's what I think. I think he would try and capture that sound again and it would go amiss. I think if they were brought in as musicians on certain songs, they'd sound great. Actually an album that brought together all of the varied players over the years might work...though it all might sound like another Graffitti Bridge or Rave album.

I too doubt there to be an album named Revolution, there'd be too much at stake with what folks would think it would sound like and what it actully sounds like. Though now I do think an album is coming very soon.

I think it would fit right in

depends, it would be great so long as they don't try to reproduce the sound they had 25 years ago. I think some really new stuff from them would be awesome.

I agree. Although as someone said earlier, I'd like to see Sheila drumming. Nothing against Bobby Z. (or anyone else since), but I've always felt Sheila should be the only drummer for him.
Ask where they're going, they'll tell U – "Nowhere"
They've taken a lifetime lease on Paisley Park ...music
