It wasn’t the best (song choice?) but hey…I wanted to see my boy. The crowd really didn’t seem to into it…not really his crowd but it was good. Billy Joel was funny and kept giving props to P….

But you got to remember, homeboy's got so many songs and so little time to perform. He got to hit it and run....no time to play everyone's favorites. razz

I feel ya…I just thought he would have played more of a crowd pleaser for the non-Prince fans in the audience to get down to (or they use to get down to). It took us a while to figure out what he was playing and one NFL Network was talking about how she hopes he plays Raspberry Beret. The crowd looked a little old and I couldn’t tell if they were feeling it. NFL seems really pleased with our guy…

I am cool with the performance…It was free and we got to see him perform…it was a good day.

Precious, I really don't want to add to your pain and discomfort, but would you believe that I just saw the re-play of this morning's performance. It is a total of a seven minute set that Prince performed.

Okay, I've returned to earth ready to share my .02 cents in a sensible and articulate manner.

Introduction: By Don Mischer Exec Producer/Director of Halftime Show. Expressed pleasure at working with P these past few months said "he's truly an icon" Yeah, we know that. . . but thanks for letting the rest of the audience in on the secret. lol Ran through all of his accolades, "one of the greatest performers of our time."

Entrance: The band comes in with P last and faces a bunch of uptight, sports journalists that prolly don't know shit about P 'cept PR. Why's he carrying the hat he didn't wear it?

Appearance: Not too much makeup (prolly wouldn't go over well with this football crowd) Hair, nice not too poufy, curly, or lady-like. FINALLY the edges look STRAIGHT, he prolly just got a fresh perm. Thank you, cuz them edges be killing me!!!! But he looks beautiful. It was great to see him in this bright ass lighting cuz there was no hiding his REAL face, still keeping it together. Plus LOTS of VERY close up shots.

Prince says: "Thank you Don for those kind words, I hope we don't WRECK your ears too much (see, a pimp!). Contrary to rumor I'd like to take a few questions right now. . . PSYCHE!!!!

Psyching out reporter: Classic Prince, loved it!

Sound: Sucks. . . but keep in mind this facility is not for performing it was really just set up for interviews. And knowing our boy, he decided to do this performance at the last damn minute. If you give people some time to plan, you might sound better. But I didn't care.

Twinz: Yes they must go, all the hair swanging okay. . . I'm over ya'll and you can't sing. He's just playing out his fantasy about twins. . . Can we move on now????

Guitar playing: LOVED IT!!! He's letting them fools who don't know that he's going to bring da heat on the guitar. Even though his vocals sounded bad the guitar was so over the top loud and FUNKY that I'm suprised he didn't blow them people through the back wall.

End of AnotherLover: Yes, Rock Lobster turns into Dr. Feelgood, with a snippet of the tail end of Let's Go Crazy. That nucca is outta control!!!!!

Get on the Boat: "You're free to get up if you want to." Some of them did too! biggrin Hornz were BLASTING but again letting you know what's in store for Sunday. MORE funky ass guitar. THEY ain't READY!!!

Exit: "Thank you. . . See you at the Superbowl . . . Peace" Throws up double-wild sign wildsign, then twirls around with a flourish (he coulda kept that, let's keep the twirling around to a minimum on Sunday, baby.) Then struts off like a SKRAIT P-I-M-P!!!" I love his lil ass! lol

Remarks from commentators after performance: "The cat's been been relevant to music for the last 27-28 years." "That's a bad boy, man. I'd come to the superbowl just to see him." "Jamie Foxx is right, that guy is sexy. Naw, he's sexy. I would be a little uncomfortable in front of him myself." (This was from Rod Woodson who's got to be the FINEST man to EVER step on a football field.) "The star power alone that he brings will make it the greatest Superbowl Halftime of all time. I might need to add him to my IPOD" (This was a guy who'd never seen him live) "Prince at halftime? We're all getting excited cuz he's one of the most incredible performers of all time. He's a legend. Just to see how he walked on there and walked off and did his thing, it's going to be a great show."

These big, former football players were giddy and almost giggling like schoolgirs, grinning from ear to ear. Cute.

All in all, I think it was a good performance for what it was and I have no complaints. Now, I feel comfortable that he's bringing da drama on Sunday and the SB Halftime Show will never be the same.
