I guess I thought of this because I just finished watching Idlewild and there are some Purple Rain like scenes in it for example when Andre's character Percival thinks about hanging himself. I know Prince had done the old Hollywood glamour thing with Under the Cherry moon. Andre 3000 and Prince should work together on a project. Hopefully egos wouldn't get in the way. But I think anything they did would be a one of a kind collectors edition eventually. Don't you guys think it would be interesting to see what they would come up with?

I think it would sound like Outkast's The Love Below. Andre was clearly inspired by Prince's Parade and SOTT albums on that one!

andre can be a first-class prince tribute act. "she lives in my lap" is one of the best prince songs released since 1988

I think you're crossing the line here a little bit. Andre 3000 will probably never reach the level of Prince as he's just not as great a genius as Prince nor is he as charismatic and thought-provoking as he is. Prince is far more focused and understands music better than Andre. Can you imagine Andre recording a solo piano or solo acoustic guitar album and caprturing your imagination with this one to the max? Andre is merely a follower of Prince's ways, not an on-par collaborator.

Prince does his best work solo,IMO.

Andre 3000 is widely hailed as the "next Prince"

They're both very creative and I'd personally love to see a collaberation

I wouldn't compare the two. Prince has alot more experience and talent. Though I do like and enjoy watching Outkast.Their music makes me jam. Haven't seen the movie yet, I'll have to rent it!

I think it's a stretch to call Andre 3000 the next Prince. Andre isn't a musician by craft, he's a rapper (and a damn good one at that). So you really can't compare the two. It's clear Dre is influenced by Prince, though. Oh, and for and the Andre 3000 haters in this post, don't get it twisted-- Outkast pretty much made the ATL a major music scene. They made the South cool.
