Do not be surprised... If the Guitar song is disappointing.A Prince sound can take sometime getting use too. Give it a week or two.

As I've said, it's amazing how a song title alone can get a fan hyped-up before they've even heard the song. "It's gonna be great!" Ermm, why, because it is called 'Guitar'? I swear some fans have imagined the whole song in their head already and if it doesn't compare they will be disappointed.

What's also amazing is when "fans" go to the other extreme and try and downplay a song title by saying they'll be "disappointed" because it doesn't "compare to what's in their head"... Really though...why can't we get a little excited that there's a new Prince tune being released in 2 days? And, considering the name itself lends us to believe it may have something to do with a particular instrument in which P is most proficient...that just doubles the anticipation! Is that wrong? Hey...since it's SB week...I'll say it Joe Namath style!! I GUARANTEE this new song will be GREAT!! Forget all those who try and persuade you otherwise...

It would be awesome if the song didn't have any guitar in it at all, but was a tribute to guitar using an old school casio keyboard, spoons, and featuring a hard core glockenspiel solo. I'd dig it.

It's like he's making a kick ass version of Fury, which seemed to make the fans mad and even called him to re-release a guitar driven version of Fury. I will laugh my ass off if it has no guitar! Christian Zombie Vampires

Indeed. When I first heard the title, I imagined something like a hybrid of Endorphinemachine and Let's Go Crazy.
But luckily I've managed to put any preconceptions aside, and I'm anxious to hear it. I've seen the future, and boy it's rough...

It's not about putting Prince down, it's the opposite. It's about people avoiding preconceptions about what the track should sound like and then putting Prince down for not emulating what was only ever in their mind.

Like the orger who was convinced FURY would be the rocker it's not. ANd then complained over and over about it. Christian Zombie Vampires
