I had a Princely happening at work today! Today at work I was stuck on cash register, even though I'm normally assgned to electronics, due to poor scheduling on management's part. I happened to be wearing one of my Prince shirts underneath my sexy, sexy Toys R Us work shirt, and just enough of the squiggle poked out from under the work collar to make it blaringly clear just whose Symbol I was sporting today.
As I was ringing one customer through, I noticed she had on a cute ltitle pair of Symbol earrings. We gave each other the knowing nod of fan-ly recognition, and she asked if I was watching the Superbowl. (Sadly not, btw, I work that Sunday  )

I've had some strange 3121 things happen also... looking at clocks and them being 3:21, my cellphone minutes equalling 31 minutes 21 seconds.. etc.
The weird thing is that she had on the symbol earrings.. bizarre | |

How odd is it that, in my city -that is mostly white and the only other fans I'd met up til today people I'd converted myself, that I and another fan decided to advertise our status on the same day, in the same way (both wearing the symbol) and end up in the same place at the same time. I had an argument with an annoying teacher because I told him I was only watching the Superbowl this year for the halftime show- neither team interests me, and I'm a baseball fan.
THEN he told me that he wanted to "pawn off" his wife on me during the tour (if it happens) so that he doesn't have to take her to any shows....

Depending on the situation, I try to show some "solidarity" with a comment of some sort: 1) I met one of my friends when he was a salesperson at the WIZ and I went in shopping with my airbrush sweatshirt a friend had made. He asked me who made it, we started talking about Prince, he sold me some stuff, and we exchanged phone #s to trade music.... 2) At the gym, a guy was working out in a "Jam of the Year" tee-shirt (sweating in it!  ), and I walked past him and said, "I saw that tour 11 times!" (He wasn't as friendly, tho)
3) I was having a parent conference in my classroom and the mom noticed my small picture of Prince behind my desk. Next thing you know, we forgot about her kid and we're sharing concert stories!
