Two: Sorry, did Prince really sy he was a better guitar player than Hendrix? I cannot remember seeing a quite/interview to this end.

Prince, especially back in the 80s was quite reverential to all the influences on his style/sound... I cannot imagine an interview where he would suggest he was better than Hendrix... I may be wrong.

Before any ... one begins to question my first assertion. Go read books.

there was one interview...it might have been the '85 rolling stone interview?...where prince said he copped more from santana than hendrix, but i've never interpreted that as a dig at jimi or his talent/legacy. he was just stating a fact about how he plays guitar. shrug



Yeah,I remember that Rolling Stone interview.Prince tried to downplay the Hendrix comparison/influence.He said that he was actually more inspired by Santana.
