Doesnt it seem like 2004 all over again.....

Things are getting very familar once again. There was this long quiet with Prince, NEWS had come out, but there were rumblings about another new album coming and a tour and then A grammy nomination for NEWS, and then Prince added to open the Grammies at the very last minute, and then of course Musicology and a Tour. It seems to be all happening again, Very quiet after 3121 comes out, a few appearances here and there but no tour, things get real quiet but then he pops up in Vegas, then he is added to the Super Bowl performers and is to be the Half Time Show, then 5 Grammy Nods, could he be added to the performers list which is growing day by day?? Since none of his Nominations will done on the air, it would make sense to perform, and now a new Track, 2 days before the Superbowl and a week before the grammy show. Its funny how many people said he didnt know how to "market" and "sell" his projects, but he probably knows better than anyone. Could 2007 turn into 2004 all over again?

You're reading my mind...

To play at the Superbowl??? That's the grandest stage, in terms of exposure, yet. Even superstars are seen in a different light after playing that gig.

Las Vegas. 3121.com. It's all building to something newer and better than ever before!

Woohooo!! The dark days of the 90's are over!

I think the difference is that 3121 was shaping up to be a big album for him.I don't think he meant last year to be quiet at all.

Prince is very smart, he's rubbing elbows with some BIG V.I.P's as long as you know big folks in the business you can stay in the limelight, plus he's had to sellout some, but look where it's gotten him Main exposure!

It's been kind of weird since 3121 came out. He was promoting it fairly heavily when it first came out, but then he slowed down somewhat. And just when you thought it was over, he'd pop up and do another high profile gig.

2004 on the other hand seemed to be planned very precisely, with the big TV spots ealy on followed by the album/tour, and then less significant TV spots as the tour progressed.

My opinion is that Prince is just playing his own game at the moment. If he feels like doing something, then he'll do it. I think he's enjoying his renewed celebrity status lol.
