There's no metaphor here. The picture is a picture. "Smash" is a euphemism for "ruin."

Paint a perfect picture bring 2 life a vision in ones mind (Fantasizing about someone)
The beautiful ones always smash the picture (The object of said fantasizing usually destroys the fantasy with their reality!)
