You know what pissed me off about that Prince tribute album?

I think it was a couple of years ago when you had artists here from the org submit their original songs which were inspired by Prince for a compilation CD. The best ones were the ones that made the album. I forget the name of the CD, but I got to listen to it online.

But the think that made me upset was that most if not all of the songs reflected the Electro-Funk/R&B side of Prince. Mind you, our hero is a versatie musician, and I was really hoping to hear something akin to the Psychedelic/paisley Pop/Rock that P was into during the mid-80's. Not a single artist did that. mad

Seriously, if I were to send a track I would make it sound like one of the lost tracks from "Around the World" or "Parade". That's a very underrated period for Prince's music, and it would also give the album diveristy.

In fact, I think that's what I will do. If they decide to compile a new CD, then I'm sending my Prince-influences psychedelic pop song in!

who under-rates that period? ATWIAD and Parade were inspired efforts and pure genius at times
