Are there any songs you prefer the unreleased version over the released?

I know the original version of We Can Funk was a popular response.

Something In The Water.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

the released on has high pop keyboards, and sounds weaker, less tough. The vocal is more typical.

The Ladder. Unreleased is even more soulful and has much deeper lyrics.

It's not an alternate version. I have a concert version where he adds verses and adds lines to the chorus. Think it's from the Nude Tour or something, real soulful.

nod A thousand times better than the studio version in my honest opinion.

Back to topic,I kinda prefer the 86 version of Can't Stop This Feeling I Got. The GB version is cool but lacks some punch, especially as an opening track.

the '86 version is all punch, I much prefer that whole suite of 3 songs as they were connected with dialogue or a quick edit...

girl of my dreams/can't stop/we can funk

Yes! nod
Also, I prefer "Slave to the System" (without the heavy guitar) to "Slave" on Emancipation.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

-Cher, "Woman's World"

BoraBora

"Crucial"
Either the full "Sax Version" or the full "Guitar Version" are strongly better than the butchered released version.

"Joy In Repetition"
Even if it is exactly the same version, the mess he did cutting the intro and pasting the song to the end of "We Can Funk" makes me cringe every time.

"We Can Funk"
The '86 Version is strongly better than the released.

"Batdance"
The full version is more genius.

We Can Funk...the 86' version is less cluttered and funkier.
Something in the Water...this is just a matter of preference because the album cut is terrific in it's own right.
Crucial...it's longer, so automatically it's better.
Elephants & Flowers...rawer than GB's version, love the rough vocals
pray love is god, god is love, girls and boys love god above pray
