Prince's most daring/out there songs

What do you think are Prince's most daring and out there songs (musically not lyrically). Stuff that was just different.

I'm thinking:

When Doves Cry
Had U
My Little Pill
Annie Christian
The Ballad of Dorothy Parker
Rainbow Children
.....

any other suggestions?

Snap

"Annie Christian" was definitely a first, musically. thumbs up!
i'd add "Power Fantastic" and "All My Dreams"
and even the first song on his first album, "For You"

Something in the water does not compute. The most daring incredible thing I think.
1) No bass line
2) Strange Drum Pattern
3) De Tuned drum sounds
4) Strange Keysounds
5) Non stop echo

I would argue this song was the start of industrial music

within context of what you expect from Prince...

Graffiti Bridge

sounds like a family church musical. And so uncool in context of the pop scene...

that was bold.

that's what it is. Who else would dare put that as the title track? It's way out of bounds. Most everyone hates it. That's a sure sign of being out there. And to make it the title track of an ambitious album is daring.

Similar in name and lyrically, but not musically to my ears.

There's others here with us, obviously, because it is the single weirdest, most brilliant songs Prince ever did. He actually does goth. I played this for a Goth fan and he told me it sucked. Such is bad taste..
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!
