Just watching the Tube, like MTV used to be, and they're playing the video for Purple Rain; it's just the footage from the movie with no tampering. This same "music video" is also on the 2 disc anniversary of Purple Rain.

However, I seem to remember at the time of its initial release, there was no video of Purple Rain being played on MTV. Is this "music video" a recent creation?.
