i agree..bashing is unacceptable in any form. however, you have too view both sides of the coin. i, as a white woman, have been bashed on these boards for being white. is that considered racist and should it be allowed? yes it is racist, and no it shouldn't be allowed....keeping that in mind, this is a public forum with people from all walks of life, that will have varying opinions. some feel that white people shouldn't appreciate prince's music as much as people of color. i mean, come one, to be bashed because i don't "understand" because i am white? to say i don't and shouldn't appreciate prince's music because i am white? i agree with the above post though, i have seen the hateration on prince women regardless of color. i know specifically which thread yall are talking about when you speak of the bashing on the color of women in prince's life...but that was a very few select people making those comments, and they do not, i repeat, do not represent the opinion of the majority of orgers. You are right, it is not all the orgers that bash women of color so let me apologize for that, but just a select few, and to tell you the truth I think bashing of any woman period on these forums is unacceptable.. thanks! i honestly also believe the bashing of women on these boards can get somewhat out of control. people can have their opinion about me whether i am white, woman, or otherwise...i just let it roll, because nothing i say or do will change their mind and it is not my goal in life to feed into their mania , only to live mine to the fullest

WTF?? | |

WTF?? Tx, maybe the reason that person did that, is probably because the person who said that to you was already fired up by all the disrespectful remarks made about him on these forums, who knows, and they took it out on you and should have tried to explain their reasons for feeling your opinion didn't matter. This is what I mean, threads like this lead elsewhere even if the author did not mean for it to go in that direction. Maybe it's time we are more more sensitive to other people's feelings around here. On HQ if they feel a thread is baiting they will lock it immediately, maybe the mods need to pay a little more attention when members are requesting a particular thread needs to be locked. Actually, I don't believe that the bashing of some of P's women has to do with skin color. At least I don't hope it has to do with that. If people were so against him dating women of color then why are they fans of Prince and a member of this community...?

[Edited 1/24/07 9:08am] Thanks, but actually I edited that post and put "Prince's" name instead of "Tamar" because Tx said it was in reference to something she stated about Prince's music. But yeah, we need to be a little more sensitive to other people's feelings around here, including me, when posting a thread.

[Edited 1/24/07 9:10am] This and the Golden Globe thread have been asked by several people to be locked. It's getting silly (even though this thread has come to be about things that are important to discuss IMO). Where are the mods when you need them?

Sorry, disagree, the only time Carmen looked interesting was when she was with Prince, then she had on more dramatic makeup and bigger hair. Since then, she has looked average,I've seen plenty of women with prettier faces. just remember..one man's trash is another man's treasure...
and no, i am ont saying any of them are "trash" , just using a famous quote to convey my point, we don't all see the same beauty. if we did, all women would have to look alike to satisfy everyone
