You know,I seriously doubt that Prince will do this.He may re-record his old albums, but whether or not he actually releases them is another story. He's always announcing projects that never see the light of day.

I hope he doesn't. If he does, hey neutral gotta respect that. I know there's a valid point to him wanting to do it...

BUT I'd rather see him pour his energy into making new music & kicking our asses on tour. I already have everything on CD & duplicates on cassette/vinyl as well - I don't want to replace my whole collection AGAIN. It's costly, it'll take a long time (though he'd probably release them one by one???) and most importantly history has been made - not even P can change the fondness we hold for the originals.

However, someone once posted that he could make the most minute change and consider it a new master. If he were to do THAT & re-release everything then I'd support it. It would be close enough to the original sound that I've loved for years, it wouldn't take up too much time (cuz time IS precious, y'all) & the quality would be better. BUT if he comes like he did w/ that 1999 New Master...

heart prince I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it prince heart

I hope he doesn't do this either.I cringe at the thought of hearing a newly recorded version of the 'Dirty Mind' CD,with the dirty lyrics edited out.I would rather have each CD remastered (NOT re-recorded!),with a few bonus tracks and other goodies added to the CD.But,as long as Prince is fighting with Warners for his master recordings,it ain't gonna happen anytime soon.

The sad thing is,other artists are remastering their old albums with a vengeance. The Rolling Stones recently remastered *ALL* of their 60s' albums!

Prince has ALREADY re-recorded his entire back catalogue
He confirmed that himself at the beginning of the year.

It looks like he decided against releasing new versions
of his old albums though. Instead he collected together
the best/most interesting 'new masters' onto a compilation
album entitled 'The Best Of prince', which may or may not
be released, and/or may or may not be sent to NPGMC members.

Let's just say 'I have my sources'.
But the vast majority of my info comes from the
same place as everybody elses.

Well, he tried it with this one song and it stunk. So hopefully he has the sense to lay off that idea.

I dont think we'll EVER hear (live or otherwise) songs like P-Control, Come, International Lover, Darling Nikki, and all of the other "Sensually-Explicit" songs we Luv. I'm not complaining, I wish him well on His Spritual Journey. I enjoy the old and the new/recent releases he sends to the NPGMC members.
