I heard that a single had been pressed and it was going to be released, but maybe there was some concern with too much "Purple Rain" on the radio? Prince, Sheila E., Apollonia 6, The Time, etc. They didn't want to hurt the main man, right? I don't know. It might have also conflicted with Dez's Christian beliefs at the time.

Try looking in the "WTF???" section of your local record store...

I remember reading an interview with Dez Dickerson and he mentioned why this song was never released.He said that Warner Bros. had actually scheduled two different release dates.The first release date was in the summer of '84,and they also considered releasing it a year later (summer of '85).Apparently,they just lost interest in the song altogether.

There were even rumors that Prince produced an entire album for Dez Dickerson and The Modern-aires.
