I haven't heard a NEW Prince song on the radio since BBGW and I listen to ALOT of radio. I have never heard Come On. Sad really when you think about it.

Because he keeps pumping out average crap, even his older tracks don't get played much.

And I still think Cream was a great single. It was a distinct sound that people recognized as Prince. Get Off was alright, but Prince generally sucks when he tries rap in any of it's evil forms.

Betcha By Golly Wow was pretty good, but again, I don't think it was GREAT. Also, if I recall, Get Off was released before Cream, disqualifying it from being the best single since Cream.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

"The Most Beautiful Girl In The World", "Lovesign" and "I hate u"

these songs were played on the radio and was very exciting to me, also BBGW from Emancipation was exciting, because it was in heavy rotation on 5 stations in detroit!

105.9 who played the song along w/ several others from emancipation for 3-4 months straight!

songs like: dreamin bout u, joint 2 joint, somebodys somebody, sleep around and jam of the year, also mojo played the title track along w/ my computer and human boy and la la la means I Love U!

98fm played somebody's somebody and BBGW!

95.5 played BBGW and The holy river

93.1 played BBGW, and The holy river

92.3 played BBGW

The last single that was released officially in stores and in my opinion was the best in years prior and that was:"The Most Beautiful Girl In The World"

althou I heard "Gold" on programmed stations like in the restaurant I worked in at the time, Gold was played hourly and the video was in heavy rotation on VH1 and BET!

So there it is from me ppl!

Wow,I can't believe how many of you dislike the song "Cream".I remember going crazy when I first heard it.The DJ premiered it on the radio, then he said something like "The nasty Prince is back!".Many people assumed it was about sex,but the song actually has a positive message.

"Cream" is everything a great pop song should be...catchy,danceable and instantly memorable. The video is great too.Love the choreography!

CREAM is a classic Prince single. I love the way Michael B works those drums. Hearing it live is an even better treat. The song has hooks aplenty. But I think his last great single (as in superior) is "7" which actually went to number #7 on the pop charts in 1993. BTW, Cream is LIL MAN's last single to go to number #1 on the charts.

Exactly! I also love hearing Rosie Gaines on background vocals. She was really an important asset to Prince's early 90s music."Cream" is the type of song that, when you hear it once, you'll be humming it all day long. It's absurdly catchy.

I like the drums in "Cream" but it's always been like "Shake" part 2 or T Rex's "bang a Gong" Part 3 IMHO.

god bless ya, more people need to talk about Mojo in here. Mojo was the educator, most of the music i listen to today is because Mojo turned me on onto it during 1984-1997.
yep, i worked at a taco bell when gold was out, and they used to play it all the time, although i hated how the 3rd verse was always edited out....
