Duh!

The 'weirdo' in the pic above has a copy of 1999 or something like it with P in all his purple glory on the back.

nod

it's only shown for a second, but a 1999-era (i think) picture of him is on a folder she pulls out.

Completely unrelated but look at the computer screens, lol. In fact, they're probably just computer catalogues with the green type face and everything.

I think they are microfish thingy reader screens!

Also, Jesse Johnson plays some killer stuff on the film soundtrack.

You know, i never thought of that, and I bet that was purposefuly done that way, too. This screencap gives fuel to the notion that Prince was the "wierdo's choice" at the time. He was way the alternative choice then, especially in the 1999 days and before.

The writer and director must have known this...what was the director's name again? I can't remember....

Oh also, does anyone know the name of the track that is playing (Instrumental) during the "wierdo's" reveal scene where she's all made up by Claire. You know, when Emilio Esteves' character goes all gah-gah over her? There's a nice melodic tune playing in the background (synth-like) but I never knew who that was playing it.

I was a senior in high school when The Breakfast Club came out and I seriously loved that movie. And I had been a massive Prince fan for a couple of years at that point. There's no doubt that Ally Sheedy's character looking at that 1999 album tells you a lot about the character. Prince had only recently set up this ideal world, "uptown", where you can dress anyway you want, look anyway you want to, and set your mind free. It was a welcome invitation to those "on the outside" such as Ally Sheedy's character. That Prince would appeal to that character fits perfectly.

IIRC, correctly it's just called 'Love Theme', it's an instrumental.

The soundtrack is great, you can get it on CD. smile
