i am a devoted converter. im pretty persistant too. and yes... it doesnt take much after they listen to a few tracks.. or i drag em to a concert (then i cant drag them away!! haha!!)..

ive heard things like:

'wow... his voice is so deep and sexy, i had no idea!'....

'shit... he can play the guitar well.. i knew he did.. but oh wow.. he's nearly better than doyle! (eric claptons guitarist)'

'i cant stop singing his songs, theyre so catchy!'

'oh my god!! hes really cool... can i burn your cds?'

etc etc...

ive been able to convert everyone close to me... except one friend.. who still thinks hes grose.

oh well, its her loss.

I'm having THE biggest problem converting my boss. We've been 2gether about 1 year.

He's younger than me. I have a feeling the 'Prince' he sees is a by-product of the WB battle. Gay. Gross. Weird. I think that's how WB wrote him off. The media has such capability to influence, such power...

It was MURDER getting him to add Fury to the playlist at the bar!

Come SuperBowl Sunday, I think he'll be singing a different tune.

All that said, he's a great boss. Fair, decisive, and cordial. Whew! I finally landed...!

I don't think that just because a person likes Prince's music makes them a FAN, theres a level of devoton to an artistdetermines that, like I like Beyonce's songs but I'm not a fan of hers. but someone went to his show with me and started liking his music, but never bought any.

I converted a friend of mine. I let him listen to "Musicology" and he really liked it, so I gave him the CD. I took him to one of the Musicology shows in L.A. and he really enjoyed it. He even burned my Purple Rain CD for his MP3 player.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I used to go knocking on people's doors, asking 'em if they've accepted Prince as their personal purple savior.
After getting my ass kicked by a family of red-necks once,

I recently converted my best friend.

She didn't really know much about Prince--like me she started as an MJ fan--and had only seen "Purple Rain" when she was REALLY little.

I had PR and invited her to my house to watch it. So we're watching it and she's getting into it, saying Prince looked cute and all.

When Prince started singing "Computer Blue" topless, I think the world kind of stopped for her. Eyes bulged, mouth agape. She looked at me and was like, "Damn, he his SEXY!"

And it's been snowballing ever since.

Prince turns people into Prince lovers.

I'm just the messenger. And I tell many.

No. My wife always wonder how a "serious" man like me--someone who likes Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder--can still listen frequently to Prince. And she hates the Lovesexy cover wink No fan converted yet, I guess.

He tends to come off as a lover of the blues, and I give him cred for knowing lots of blues stuff. How one can be a blues lover and not know that Prince RULES the blues is beyond me.

He also tends to like lots of Britney, Nelly F., Shakira...y'know, radio tripe.

Yes my unchle tiger. He kinda new who p was .He collects music dvds and he loves
funk , is one of his favoritesJames brown. He told me since he's part of some dvd fan club he got one of ps dvd in 2000. He probally got rave and he threw it out. So we were on the patteo listening to led and my father being a good p fan told me to get 3121 and put on get on the boat. And he loved it. He forgot who p was so when I told him who it was he said well this dude is probally not famous so that's why I never heard of him and me and my dad laughed. So then I show him live at the addladin which is princes most funkyest dvd and 1hour later we are at sams club buying the dvd.

I don't convert anyone into anything they already aren't into. If they don't have the good taste to like good things already, they ain't the type of person I would be hanging out with in the first place. lol
