Rave Unto The Year 2000.
it felt like bloody years. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I don't know for sure what the record is but I was at a show in '98 at The Palace in Auburn Hills and Prince took the stage at 8:10pm.
At 1:00am I was just worn out, tired and simply couldn't hang anymore, so I left. Prince was still on stage doing his thing like he'd just got up there and the friends I left behind told me he was up there at least another good hour. I like to think that he did that to make up with us for a concert he had here a year earlier. Where he got mad at the stage hands at Pine Knob for screwing up his prop and left us after only an hour's worth of show. Needless to say, it worked for me!

At the aftershow following the Essence Awards in 1998, after sitting thru what seemed like HOURS of taping the show to hear a lame version of "The Cross" ("The Christ")... it had to be between 4:00 & 5:00 am, and Prince has a towel on his head, saying "Call your babysitters! We ain't goin' nowhere!"
I was so tired- I was sitting on the floor in formalwear! Do you know how NASTY Irving Plaza's (NYC) floor is?! I'm grossed out thinking about it now! But DAMN! what an experience! That was my 1st aftershow! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

Probably not very long for Prince standards but the ONA show in Berlin went three hours. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

It's not the length of his concerts that matters.
It's what he does with 'em.
