I patted Prince on the back as he walked past me at a concert in london! I have also shaken hands with Morris Hayes and Maceo Parker. I also said "nice playing" to Johnny Blackwell after a concert. He said "thanks" to me!

Beat that!

I remember I was at work the night Prince saw the truth at Trocodero's and my girlfriend got a text message from the girl we know that worked there like "Guess who is showing up here tonight??? PRINCE!!" We were like excited We were jumping up and down like thirteen year olds! If he would have played a set then I would have really been mad that I missed it. biggrin

That is the exact night I was going to post about! I went to Trocaderos every Thursday to see The Truth and the one night I didn't make it I found out Prince had shown up.

Thanks to the now "defunct???" NPGMC, I got front row seats to see Prince in D.C. at the MCI Center for the Musicology tour. I was so close to him that I could have grabbed his ankles from the stage!!! It was tempting but I didn't want security to grab MY ankles!!!
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Snap

I almost saw Prince a couple years ago at a show that almost no one knows he even did. He was in Reno for a week rehearsing for the Musicology tour, which he would actually open in Reno (officially in L.A. the next night). During that week, I drove by the coliseum a couple times and saw a lot of action there. I so much would've loved to have peaked in at the rehearsals. Anyway, one night, the Reno Hilton was bathed in purple light, and I just had this feeling that Prince was doing something there that night -- I mean he was in town, right? But that same night, I was fighting a real bad flu bug, and I fought and fought within myself whether I should go over to the Reno Hilton and see what was going on. But I wasn't feeling good at all, so I drove home. I became even sicker the next day when I read in the paper that Prince performed at the Reno Hilton the night before. Hardly anyone knew he was going to be there. It was a surprise performance, and if not for my flu, I would've been there too! I think it was Wednesday night, two days before he opened the biggest selling tour of 2004.

When I did meet Prince at the press conference in NY as posted earlier, I told him that I looked forward to working with him. I introduced myself and he repeated my full name twice. I told him to remember it because I WILL be working with him. He said, in that voice of his.."I look forward to it". A few days later he posted if you want to audition for him bring a tape with you to the celebration at Paisley Park. My working with Prince.....stay tuned smile PurpleHouse wink cool
