Prince - Romance 1600 - A love bizarre How cool is this performance? I cannot remember a single time, live or recorded, where Prince has been at his most playful and relaxed. Many's the argument that has occurred on this site about the musicianship of his various bands, well, on this occasion, The Revolution were amazing... admitedly they do include many of the band that would go on to form the SOTT/Lovesexy band, but hey... essentially, it was The Revolution and the music here is sensational. Forget the music, though... what about Prince? How can one man make pink such a hetreosexual colour? The man is in inspired form in this invasion... especially towards the end when he does the 'hands in the air' audience participation and laughs and mimes the words ;purple rain' as he flicks his fingers above his head. Wonderful.
The only onther time I've seen him look so happy on stage was during the 7th June Detriot concert on the Hit and Run Tour. What a performer. what a performance.

Yes, this has to be up there with my all time greatest perfomances ever!!!! I always love seeing this and I am blown away by how much fun he was having during the Parade era. First time ever I seen the "chop that tree down" line and was cracking up. Loved every minute of it. [Edited 1/10/07 5:18am] "

I love everything from the Parade era, despite the friction within the band it seems as though he's really enjoying himself.
