I thought Prince was at his most open and interesting at this point in his career. His conversion to JWs has had an impact on that openess. If he's happy, however, and found his spiritual home, then cool, good for him.
Personally, I'm still trekking down the Lovesexy path. I hope to find an answer someday soon. | |

Don't even get me started. You know I was REALLY enjoying watching his spirituality transform (ever so slowly) and I THOUGHT I knew exactly where he was headed. But NO. He minimizes our savior to Micheal the archeangle... According to previous lyrics he wasn't going to have believed that.  And no this isn't heresay, I studied and was visited by his fellow witnesses for a YEAR and I KNOW what they believe first hand. I'm in shock still. The only reason I came back to the org was because he divorced Mani and that is of course not allowed, and I was read that Mani was the reason he converted (and Larry duh) So I figured if she left him, he might eventually realize he was apostate....
The reason why I care so much is because in heaven we all get jobs assigned to us (according to revelation anyhow) based on what would best glorify God, and well he obviously would be musician, and I just think he should be there. But he doesn't even believe in heaven anymore (not one that WE can get to anyways). There isn't any grace either. Its all about deeds. That kind of legalism condemns EVERYBODY. grrr grrr. I have to stop this could turn into a 20 page theological essay.... Fortunately since he is still alive he isn't quitting his journey.... Agreed... I think he understood at one time, since then, however, he has been lead to believe that this understanding was misplaced in 4th century conspiracy theories. My signature says it best... Even though Prince says he is a JehovahWitness. I don't really believe that Prince is a true Orthodox Jehovah Witness(ie.. divorcing Mani,still singing sexual songs -minus the cursinglololo,and etc..r examples of non jw beliefs). Those are just some of the things that Prince has done that is contrary to true Orthodox Jehovah Witness doctrine. I too know what Jehovah Witnesses doctrine says, but they are others-JW's-who still believe that jesus Christ is lord even though there religion states differently. So in other words you can't really box people and there religion,and u can't really box Prince and his beliefs. | |
