Well don't know about do your thing prince and the tribute wiil come later when everyone can be there!

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't simply a case of Chinese Whispers, the media getting word of discussions about the possibility of Prince doing some sort of tribute to James Brown on fansites like this one and converting it into 'fact'.

Anchorman: "Any musical news we can use?"
Researcher: "I read something about Prince maybe doing a tribute to James Brown on the web the other day..."

I really think Prince is going to be promoting Prince and only Prince at the Superbowl.

Is Prince the only artist performing at the Super Bowl or will other artists be performing also? I don't give a damn if he does a tribute to Lawrence Welk, just as long as he doesn't do it with any of these sorry ass artists that came out in the last 15 years.

Whether it's an all out song or a few notes or bars, a nod to the Godfather of Soul is in order. All I know is that I would be shocked if he finished the halftime show without one noticing a definite nod to JB. As far as those people who don't want to see that happen I've got two things 2 say. One the performance is twenty minutes long with plenty of time to bust new and old things out, and two, it'll be funky anyways so relax.
